This kit also comes with a case (you need to drill holes yourself), and you can actually build a radio while learning the circuit configuration of a superheterodyne radio in conjunction with the article.
At a minimum, a frequency counter is required for adjustment. A test signal generator and oscilloscope are required for full-scale adjustment.
