type: ADACHACY digital version Haptic device development module “hapStak”

The " hapStak " haptic device development/tactile sensation module is a module that comes with a vibration actuator and a drive circuit, allowing for easy reproduction of tactile sensations through vibration.
It uses the latest actuator " FOSTER ACOUSTICHAPTIC® " developed by Foster Electric, and is a versatile actuator that combines three features not found in conventional modules: wide-range vibration, low latency, and quietness, allowing it to produce a variety of tactile sensations.
Two versions are available: a "digital version" for developers that is equipped with an I2S connection socket for various microcontroller boards such as ArduinoMKRZero and M5StackAtom to support advanced vibrotactile implementations using a variety of devices, and an "analog version" that can easily generate vibrations from audio signals and allow users to experience tactile sensations.
It is possible to create vibration controller devices to improve the experience of games and VR entertainment.
This product aims to set a new standard in the development of a new genre of tactile devices that "create sensations that don't exist."

Example of product use: Implementation into game controllers
Implementation on hand devices during VR experiences Use in exhibitions, amusement, etc. Demonstrations at exhibitions Teaching materials for engineering and information science classes

Product Features

Innovative vibration performance with FOSTER ACOUSTICHAPTIC®, the latest actuator from Foster Electric

We use the versatile actuator "FOSTER ACOUSTICHAPTIC®," which combines wide-range vibration, low latency, and quietness, features not possible with conventional actuators.
This unit alone can handle a wide range of vibration frequencies that previously could only be achieved by combining multiple motors, etc. It boasts overwhelming expressive power, from heavy impacts to soft tactile sensations, and even delicate vibrations like the knock of a ballpoint pen.
With a response speed of less than 50ms, which is five times faster than previous models, and bedroom-level quietness, it delivers a pure vibration experience to users.

Supports I2S communication and can be controlled from various microcomputer boards. *Digital version

*The appearance and material of the case may vary depending on the shipping date.

In order to support device control using small microcontroller boards, it is equipped with an I2S interface compatible with the ArduinoMKRZero and M5StackAtom series.
It is possible to play audio data and generate vibrations directly from the microcontroller board.

Power can also be supplied from the microcontroller, so the cables are neat and tidy, and it can also be powered by a standard USB mobile battery.

You can create your own small, handy device by taking advantage of the network functions of the microcontroller board.
In addition, a wooden assembly case is included.

It is possible to quickly create a simple device.

High-quality tactile experiences can be easily reproduced using only audio signals. *Analog version

Even using a basic audio signal such as an mp3, you can have an amazing tactile experience.

The module precisely reproduces familiar sounds such as the sound of a bat hitting something or typing on a keyboard.

Aiming to establish a new standard in haptic device development, the project will be held at various events

We are running various events and campaigns to raise awareness of hapStak among developers.

The company is sponsoring the "Heroes League" manufacturing contest, encouraging the development of various haptic devices by lending out hapStak devices, and also plans to hold an event in collaboration with the haptic technology community "Shockathon."

We will provide proactive development support so that it can be accepted as the new standard in tactile device development.

Please be careful!
To use the digital version of this product, you will need a separately sold microcontroller board, a PC for programming, and basic knowledge of these.

The M5StackAtom terminal and the ArduinoMKRZero terminal are exclusive and cannot be connected at the same time.

Analog version

This product is a modular product that includes an actuator and a drive circuit.
Please prepare your own device to play the audio source. Power supply from the USB power terminal and the battery box are exclusive and cannot be used simultaneously.
