b00319 AD9834BRUZ Direct Digital Synthesizer
The AD9834 is a 75 MHz, low power DDS device capable of providing high performance sine and triangle wave outputs. The device also has a built-in comparator that can generate a square wave for clock generation. Power consumption is only 20mW when driven at 3V, making it an ideal candidate for power sensitive applications.
Functions for phase and frequency modulation are also provided. The frequency register is 28 bits long, allowing a resolution of 0.28Hz at a clock rate of 75MHz. Using a 1 MHz clock rate at the same time allows the AD9834 to switch to 0.004 Hz resolution. Frequency modulation and phase modulation are determined by registers loaded through the serial interface and toggled between them using software registers or the FSELCT and PSELECT pins, respectively. The AD9834 is programmed using a 3-wire serial interface. This serial interface operates at clock rates up to 40 MHz and is compatible with DSP and microcontroller interface standards.
