A normal Raspberry Pi and even a smaller Zero can be connected. Zero WH also has a shutdown/reboot switch. (Pin header soldering is required to use the switch in 3B)
DC5V can be supplied to RaspberryPi and pHAT/HAT!
Power can be supplied to the Raspberry Pi and all expansion boards from the DC connector on the stack expansion board board. With stable power, you can conduct experiments with peace of mind.
